Value is Perception - Quality is Real
|

So far I would have to say that this player is the real deal.
First about me so you can see where I am coming from. I am notorious for analyzing my purchases to try to find the best "value" only to find that that the quality is not there. I tend to be pretty hard on my stuff so it has to stand up. I tend to focus on function over form.
When I first got this think I was surprised that it was very tiny. The image on the screen was very clear.
I bought this player for a ski trip so I was concerned about the durability. Well it survived sub-freezing weather and numerous crashes. So much for that concern. The only issue was trying to see the screen on a bright day.
I have my trip pictures on the card and they are very nicely displayed on the screen clear and crisp.
Does not only play AVI it really depends upon the codec used. Youtube seems to have the biggest issue - formatfactory - http://www.formatoz.com/ - can handle if you set the output to XVID.
I used 4GB SDHC cards without issue.
Syncs with Media Player without issue.
The instructions were very rudimentary and only by poking around on do I figure out all the capabilities/limitations of this device. I can only wonder what I am missing.
This thing may not have all the bells and whistles of the other more expensive players, but I believe that anybody but an I-Pod snob would be happy with the performance and capabilities of this player.

| This mp5 player works wonderful and the sound and video quality is very well. It comes with a grip for it, a stylus, charger, USB. A lot of people don't know this but it is a double touch screen, you have to touch the screen twice. Also the way you make your own playlist is you make a new file when you plug it into the computer and then put all the music you want in that file and in the mp5 player you press the explore button and go on the file you made and play one of the songs you should have all songs played you have in the file. I was so impressed by the it so I bought another one and gave the old one to by bro. It's a really great product. |

| First off let me say that because some of the reviews i was a bit skeptical about purchasing this product but im so glad i did it turned out to be the best player ive ever owned great video quality and the external speaker sounds great. the ease of the drag and drop is great its alot better than putting all your songs into a program like itunes and its great because media can be added off of any computer unlike ipods that haved to be synced with a certain library or you have to erase everything and start over. easily the best 80 dollars ive ever spent if your thinkink about buying something else dont this product is great and the 16gb memory is big enough for my music and several movies. if i could give a higher rating than 5 i would. |

I'll just provide a brief overview of things I wanted to know before I ordered this, and interesting things I've found out since I've started using it. It's a fantastic value for the money.
I totally recommend it as an inexpensive personal media device. Now I always have several books to read everywhere I go, a selection of my music and data handy, and a digital photo wallet. For less than $80.
-eBook basically means it reads txt files. they have to be UNICODE txt files as well. It does not read PDF files (I didn't expect it to, but it would've been great...)
-provides you with 8 bookmark locations for your "eBooks"
-music can continue to play whilst you read your "eBook"
-provides handy folder based navigation, in addition to ID3 tag based. a real plus for me
-you can use any object (like a pen) as a stylus
-it is in fact 16gb (great price)
-voice recorder has lo and hi quality modes
-plays wav files but not m4as (again, didn't really expect it to)
-does NOT do album art
-simple explorer style drag and drop transfers (YES!)
-works great as an external HD, but I think its just USB 1.1
-the screen is a little dark for photos, but functional
-built in speaker
-included headphones are actually pretty decent. they include a volume control.
-if you plug it in w/ the ac adapter to charge, you can continue to play music etc while its charging. not so if charging from a computer.
-it has worked great on the usb hubs i've used. many externals/players don't want to work off hubs. this one does (so far.)
get it! |
